Recycling for Dummies

Oh you know, Korea just doing their part to save a little place called Earth.

It's pretty remarkable actually. Every fast food restaurant, convenience store, coffee shop, etc. is required to recover more than 90% of their used paper products so they have recycling and compost bins in pretty much every food business in Korea. Likewise, households are required to purchase designated colored bags (which can be conveniently purchased at any Emart(uh) or Lotte Mart) to separate recyclables from non. There's a cost incentive to recycling. The Ministry of the Environment has actually made it cheaper for households to recycle their waste. Now, there's a concept! Whether the motive is environmentally driven to save Green or just to save green in the pocket books, everyone is doing it and it's pretty cool.

He hit me in the fire eggs - little samo

It's all fun and games until someone gets hit in the fire eggs. This is what happens when 5 little 9 year old boys are left alone in a room with nothing to do. I walk in and Samo's head is face down on the desk and as any concerned person would do, I proceed to ask Samo and the others what happened and trying with all his might to hold in the giggles, he says "he hit me in the fire eggs". Just for a second, I started to ask "what are...nevermind". I have to admit, I was busting up inside and trying with all my might to not crack a smile.

Oh yeah, these are the finer moments of teaching in Korea :)
